Basil Gimlet

fresh, fragrant and floral — tastes like a garden stroll

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 oz Rue de Rêve Blanc

  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 oz basil simple syrup*

To Serve:

(serve in a coupe)

  1. Add Rue de Rêve Blanc, basil syrup, and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.

  2. Shake for 10 seconds. 

  3. Double strain into a coupe glass.

  4. Garnish with a basil leaf.

Basil Syrup Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Basil leaves - 1 cup.

  2. Sugar - 1 cup.

  3. Water

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

  3. Add 1 cup of fresh basil leaves to the saucepan.

  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for about 30 minutes.

  5. Strain the syrup to remove the basil leaves.

  6. Store the basil syrup in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 8 weeks.
